Red Arrows, Chichester, June 2004
The Red Arrows always display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the area near work seemed to be their turning circle.
Freedom 2 Staff, Chichester, 2004
This was about the time when some of our test servers got so hot that chips started popping off the motherboards, among other problems with heat building up overnight. So we had to get some air conditioning in, and rebuild a bunch of servers along with our usual day-to-day stuff.
Chichester weather, 2001-2004
The good thing about British weather is that there's so much of it to talk about. Here's a generous sampling from my time in Chichester.
Chichester Snow
During the day we laughed at the suggestion that it might snow, sitting in the warm office looking out at sunny skies. Even getting into the car to go home, it was cold but clear (if a little dark at 6pm). On the five minute journey to my flat however, we went from clear, to thundery, to the first stinging flakes of ice as I put my key into the door. By the time I'd got rid of coat, bag and keys there was a tapping sound at the window, and outside was covered in a thin layer of white.
I put some food in the microwave, but decided that grabbing my camera and taking some photos was more appealing that microwaved pizza. Before it got too bad...

Chichester 3
The Cathedral pics are mostly test shots while I waited for the return of the peregrines - only had to wait a week or so as it turned out.
The others are random stuff seen in and around town: the Terminator 2-style burned out cars are the aftermath of a garage fire, and they'd been moved out of the way by the demolition crew.
Dumfries to Chichester
You can tell when I get bored or nervous - I start shooting everything in sight. This is a record of the journey from Dumfries in Scotland back to Chichester on the south coast of England, which took three trains, a 'plane, a bus, and about nine hours.
I took many pictures of the clouds from above when on the 'plane, which was in part due to both boredom and nerves. As I was above the engine I switched to a widescreen mode I found while playing with the camera to cut out as much machinery as possible. I wouldn't have been able to take any pics if it wasn't for the nice Goth girl reading Empire magazine switching seats with me - thanks! :)
SpiritFM
No, it's not a sauna, these were taken at the local radio station when the air conditioning broke in mid-summer. The story was carried on one of the news wires, and I was asked to take pics to accompany it.
